Ervin Ascic completed his PhD

The Pereira Team is congratulating Ervin Ascic, who defended his PhD, entitled “Dendritic cell reprogramming for cancer immunotherapy”.

Together with Tasuku Honjo, James Allison received the 2018 Nobel Prize for the discovery of cancer therapy through immune checkpoint inhibition. In a special celebration of the evolution of cancer immunotherapy, Ervin’s defense had the privilege of including James Allison as an opponent, which greatly enriched the scientific discussion. Whether in person or online, the audience cheered as Ervin defended the field of cellular reprogramming with distinction, highlighting its potential as a cancer immunotherapy modality.
