Restoring Antitumour Immunity with Dendritic Cell Reprogramming Strategies

Biography

After her bachelors in Biomedical Sciences, Gabriela has pursued a Master’s in Molecular Genetics during which she has developed a project aiming at the direct reprogramming of fibroblasts to regulatory T cells. Currently, on her PhD studies, Gabriela is exploring direct reprogramming strategies to generate novel cancer immunotherapies. First she has improved the direct reprogramming of dendritic cells by building polycistronic vectors with Spi1, Irf8 and Batf3. For the past two years she has been working on reprogramming cancer cells to antigen presenting cells.
Gabriela’s main goal is to translate it into the mouse system and later to the human to demonstrate that reprogramming cancer cells with dendritic cell factors potentiates antitumour immunity in vivo.
