Biography

César is a biotechnology engineer from Mexico currently completing a double-degree master’s program in Innovative Medicine from Uppsala University in Sweden and Heidelberg University in Germany. During his academic journey, César has worked in diverse research labs, studying bacterial genetics, inflammation in autoimmune diseases, and the identification of autoantibodies in cancer. During his master’s studies he has found a passion for how the immune system works. Driven by this, he will complete his master’s thesis at the Pereira lab, focusing on understanding cellular interactions between cancer and immune cells in vivo. César’s long-term goal is to pursue a PhD in cancer immunology, with a focus on novel immunotherapeutic strategies.

Beyond science, César enjoys outdoor activities like playing soccer, hiking, and going for runs.
