Understanding Dendritic Cell Diversity

Biography

Cristiana’s previous work on her PhD focused on applying cell reprogramming strategies to develop new cell-based therapies for retinal degenerations. In 2016, Cristiana joined the PereiraLab as a postdoctoral fellow, driven by the interest in merging cell reprogramming with immunology. Together with Fábio, she identified transcription factor codes to induce dendritic cell fate. Currently, Cristiana is focused on exploring reprogramming approaches to understand the heterogeneity of dendritic cells and to develop new and powerful cancer immunotherapies. Cristiana is passionate about the translation of the scientific discoveries from the lab to the patients and she is CEO of Asgard Therapeutics.

Cristiana (Cris, as everyone call her) likes to help the other members of the group, namely on how to prepare solutions and calculate dilutions! She likes music, reading and cooking. And the sun and the ocean in Portugal!
