Biography

Diogo obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Biotechnology at Instituto Superior Técnico. During his academic training, he developed a foundation in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology, along with hands-on experience in core laboratory techniques and experimental design. Through his studies, he developed a particular interest in cancer biology and immunology. Motivated by this interest, he joined Pereira Lab for his master’s thesis project, where he will focus on evaluating whether small chemical molecules can enhance or partially substitute transcription-factor driven reprogramming of cancer cells into dendritic cells.

Outside the laboratory, Diogo is a football referee and he enjoys gaming.
