Gaia Fontanari

PhD Student

Biography

Gaia holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomolecular Sciences and Technologies and master’s degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Trento in Italy, where she studied surrounded by the Italian Alps. For her master’s thesis, she moved to Umeå University in Sweden, where she focused on investigating the non-catalytic functions of METTL3. Throughout her studies, Gaia developed a strong interest in cancer immunotherapy and cellular reprogramming, which led her to pursue a PhD project that combines both fields.

In her free time, Gaia enjoys staying active by climbing, and going to the gym as well as watching TV shows and playing board games with friends.
