Biography
Lucie completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Cologne, Germany, and she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine. During her studies, she gained research experience in several areas, including phase separation in inhibitory synapse formation and mitochondrial protein import. During her Master’s studies, Lucie developed an interest in epigenetics and cell fate decisions. Following these interests, Lucie joined the Pereira lab for an ERASMUS+ internship focusing on barriers of cell fate plasticity. Her project aims to mechanistically validate cross-lineage barriers to cell fate conversions and their implication for cellular reprogramming.
