Maria Thrasyvoulou

MSc Student

Biography

Maria completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Cyprus, where she developed a strong interest in stem cells and regenerative medicine. During this time, she focused on her dissertation, expanding her knowledge of early embryonic development by investigating the molecular aspects of Proximo-Distal patterning within the trophoblast of mouse embryos. After graduation, Maria pursued a Master’s degree in Biomedicine at Lund University, where her growing passion for cell reprogramming led her to discover the pioneering work of Pereira Lab. Eager to contribute to cancer research through innovative approaches in cell reprogramming, Maria conducted a summer project at Pereira Lab, where she explored the interactions of in vivo reprogrammed dendritic cells within the tumor microenvironment. Maria is now excited to conduct her Master’s thesis at Pereira Lab and contribute to more groundbreaking projects.

Outside the academic world, Maria enjoys baking, listening to music, reading books and exploring nature.
