Mariana Gonçalves

Research Assistant

Mariana has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Porto. During her Bachelor thesis, she worked with rat fibroblasts to understand how activation of β3 adrenoreceptors affects collagen production and proliferation. Later, she was passionate to work on topics more related to intracellular signaling, which prompted her to develop her master’s thesis exploring the mechanisms that contribute to epithelial organization.

During her spare time, she enjoys going to the cinema, going out with friends, and exercising. She also loves exploring the world, hiking, and taking on new adventures.
