Biography

Takumi is a board-certified pathologist from Japan with a research background in the tumor microenvironment. His work has focused on protease regulation, including HAI-1 and HGF–MET signaling, and more recently on the role of LRP11 in tumor cell proliferation and microenvironmental interactions. Takumi is currently interested in understanding how tumor immunity is initiated, using in vivo reprogramming approaches to explore the early dynamics of immune activation.

Outside of the lab, Takumi enjoys spending time with his two children. He also enjoys playing the piano and violin.
